-Clinical Skills Portal: Clinical Procedures
Drexel University College of Medicine develops and maintains this web-portal. Outfitted with links related to clinical skills, the portal connects users to information on communication skills, physical examination, differential diagnostic reasoning, symptoms and signs, clinical procedures, medical ethics, clinical case studies and other resources. Of the many portions of the portal, only the Clinical Procedures have been made open to the public.
-The Teaching Center
University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill Department of Pediatrics has formed The Teaching Center. Their goal: supporting and improving the quality of doctors’ teaching. As advisors to the Educational Oversight Committee of the Department, The Teaching Center offers consultations for individual doctors or for academic departments at UNC and elsewhere.
-Clinical Health Economics System Simulator
Developed by Dr. John Voss at the University of Virginia, this project allows users to practice making clinical decisions using different economic models. Game play reveals in graphical terms how clinical decisions effect physician income, patient costs, and societal costs. Initially created as an Excel spreadsheet it has now been converted to a Flash based web game.
